RelCalc
for Windows and Year 2000 The RelCalc for Windows V5.0 software is Year 2000 Compliant. RelCalc for Windows uses standard Microsoft Win32 date and time functions, which Microsoft documents as being operationally valid until Jan 18, 2038. Also, RelCalc for Windows was designed to run on Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT, all of which appear to be Year 2000 Compliant for our purposes. Note that RelCalc for Windows only uses dates for two purposes: 1) The title line in reports includes the date/time that the report is printed. 2) When you add/edit a part library record, the record is stamped with today's date (RevDate). RelCalc for DOS and Year 2000 Our old DOS V3.x versions of RelCalc are not Year 2000 Compliant. There would be no major problems in using the software after 1/1/2000, but dates would be reported incorrectly in certain places (dates are used in the same two areas as listed above). For example, the date 10/15/2000 would be shown in reports as 10/15/100. Please note that a Year 2000 fix will NOT be made for the V3.x software, and that no future updates to V3.x are planned. This was influenced by various factors: very little demand for the old DOS V3.x software; development schedule priorities; and various technical factors. Almost all of our users have already updated to RelCalc for Windows, Version 5.0. If you are still using the old DOS version of RelCalc, you might consider updating also. This web site allows you to take a look at the new features, download a free Demo for a test drive, and place your order. |
